Developers starting a custom agent on the Claude Agent SDK, or maintaining one and wanting a best-practice check before deploying.
Install

What it does
- /new-sdk-app: asks for language, project name, agent type, starting point and package manager, installs the latest SDK, creates the project files with
.env.exampleand.gitignore, and adds a working example. - agent-sdk-verifier-py and agent-sdk-verifier-ts: run automatically after scaffolding, or on request (“Verify my Python Agent SDK application”), and return a report with critical issues, warnings and passed checks.
Pros
- Gets you from zero to a running SDK app quickly.
- Verifiers catch setup mistakes like missing env handling.
- Sets up
.env.exampleand.gitignoreso keys stay out of git.
Cons and caveats
- Focused on new projects; the verifiers are the only part useful for existing apps.
- You still need an API key to run the agent you build.

Frequently asked questions
Which languages does it support?
Python and TypeScript. /new-sdk-app asks which one you want, then sets up the matching project and verifier.
What do the verifier agents check?
SDK installation and version, project configuration, correct SDK usage, agent setup, environment and API key handling, error handling and documentation. They report PASS, PASS WITH WARNINGS or FAIL.
Does it install the SDK for me?
Yes. The command checks for and installs the latest SDK version, then runs type checking or syntax validation.
