By Claudekit Team Published 4 min read
Anthropic has changed Claude’s usage limits many times since weekly limits arrived in August 2025, announced through Help Center updates, news posts and posts on X rather than one changelog. This page is the dated record: what changed, when, which plans it touched, and where it was announced. The newest change is at the top.
Each row links to its source. Official means an Anthropic page (anthropic.com, the Claude Help Center or the Claude docs). Press report means a news outlet reported it and we found no official page still online. Claudekit.ai is an independent community site, not affiliated with Anthropic.

How to read it
- Promotions end. The May 2026 weekly boost and the March 2026 off-peak boost were temporary. The rule in force today is the most recent permanent change, not the biggest number on the page.
- “Higher” is relative to a baseline Anthropic never published. A 25% increase tells you the direction, not how many hours you get. To see where you stand, use
/usageor a status line that shows your limits. - Claude Code and chat can move separately. The 2026 weekly changes applied to Claude Code only. The five-hour session limit is shared across Claude and Claude Code.

What is not on this list
We leave out anything we could not tie to a source we could open on the checked date. That includes extensions of the 2026 promotion announced only on X, and an April 2026 one-time usage credit whose Help Center article is no longer online. If you have an official link for a missing change, it belongs here.
